but what exactly is light?

Some of my artworks will always be there in my imaginary archive, they “pop up” in my head every now and then, because they are dear to me. These are the works that I want to show on my blog in the “collections”-series, as an homage to their owners.
The people who “live with” my drawings, paintings and sculptures are cherished by me, I am and will always be gratefull to them. It is a precious experience to me when I’m allowed to take my work to its new surroundings myself, only then -it seems to me- I can appreciate it as an independent piece of art.

De werken in mijn denkbeeldig archief en de collecties waarin zij zijn opgenomen zijn een steun en toeverlaat. Zij die houden van -zich ontfermen over- en willen leven met mijn werk worden door mij dan ook op handen gedragen. Het blijft een bijzondere gebeurtenis om het werk in de nieuwe omgeving te mogen bekijken en het meestal pas dán als een op zichzelf staand iets te kunnen zien.

pinus halepensis, commonly known as the Aleppo Pine,
is a pine native to the Mediterranean region:

pinus halepensis is a small to medium-size tree. The bark is orange-red, thick and deeply fissured at the base of the trunk and thin and flaky in the upper crown. The needles are very slender, long, distinctly yellowish green and produced in pairs. The cones are narrow conic, long and broad at the base when closed, green at first, ripening glossy red-brown when 24 months old. They open slowly over the next few years, a process quickened if they are exposed to heat such as in forest fires. The seeds have a wing and are wind-dispersed

PIJNBOOM
In de orientaalse symboliek is de Pijnboom de belangrijkste harshoudende altijd groene boom die staat voor onsterfelijkheid of een lang leven.
Net als de ceder was de Pijnboom verbonden met onvergankelijkheid.

In zijn jeugd heeft de wintergroene Pijnboom een kegelvorm, op oudere leeftijd een afgeplatte schermvormige kroon. De lange grijsgroene naalden zijn rond, lang en staan paarsgewijs in bosjes op de twijgen. De voet van elk naaldenpaar is omgeven door een schede van schubjes.

In het voorjaar zijn in het Pijnboombos fijne tikjes te horen van dennenappels die openspringen en het zaad laten vallen dat dan door de wind wordt meegevoerd:
de zaden zijn gevleugeld.

Het beeld “incorporare“ maakte deel uit van de collectie Piet en Ida Sanders.
Na het overlijden van Ida Sanders en in 2012 ook van Piet Sanders,
kwam het beeld terug in mijn bezit.
Onlangs werd het liefdevol geïncorporeerd,
waardoor “incorporare” zal afreizen naar de MEDITERRANEE,
naar nieuwe eigenaars:
een onnoemelijk geschenk, een groots gebaar!

Het is uitzonderlijk, het is waardevol en het is onontbeerlijk:
dankzij de echte liefhebbers houdt kunst stand.
