Ever since I bought a book about Martial Raysse in 1982 at the Picasso Museum, Antibes, his work has inspired me. The Mediterranean atmosphere in his works represents without doubt a natural freedom and “joie de vivre”.
Martial Raysse (1936) was born in a ceramists family in Vallauris (France) and began to paint and write poetry at age 12. After studying and practising athleticism at a high level, he began to accumulate rubbish odds and ends that he preserved under plexiglas.
