On the 4th of July I handed my oldest book (from 1892)
over, as a present to dr. Ralf Eichberg,
director of the Nietzsche Dokumentationszentrum
Naumburg(Saale) in Germany.
With this special present I wanted to thank him
for the exhibition LEBENSREIZ.
LEBENSREIZ is showing a selection of my
photographic archives about visiting places -since 1982-
where Nietzsche lived and worked,
as well as the relics I brought
along with me from these trips.
At the same time, at the occasion of
the opening of LEBENSREIZ,
I officially donated my Nietzsche travels
photographic archives,
relics and a part of my Nietzsche-library as well,
to the Nietzsche Dokumentationszentrum
Naumburg (Saale) Germany.
We were extremely excited
when dr. Eichberg discovered,
that the book I gave him,
–with the left text sheet filled in-
was the book on which he based his PhD research.
He had been looking for it all over the world,
did not find it and now -on this special day-
I just put it in his hands.
Nietzsche’s sister Elisabeth,
who has been known to falsify
his work, in 1892 ordered that the entire edition
of this book -edited by Peter Gast-
was to be destroyed.
The book I bought (I don’t remember where)
survived miraculously and now I could give it back
so it can be saved where it belongs.

Marjolijn: “Weil es so wertvoll ist, soll es hier bleiben.“

Op 4 juli 2017 gaf ik dr. Ralf Eichberg,
directeur van het Nietzsche Dokumentationszentrum
Naumburg(Saale) in Duitsland,
ter ere van de tentoonstelling LEBENSREIZ,
die een selectie toont van mijn foto-archief
van bijna 40 jaar Nietzsche-reizen
en de daarbij behorende relikwieën,
het oudste boek (uit 1892) cadeau
uit mijn omvangrijke Nietzsche-bibliotheek.
De opwinding was groot toen dr. Ralf Eichberg,
die is gepromoveerd op juist dit boek,
zich realiseerde, dat hij déze uitgave
–met linker tekstblad compleet–
nooit in handen had gehad,
het overal ter wereld had gezocht
maar nergens had gevonden.
Ik kon het hem op deze gedenkwaardige dag
overhandigen, zodat het veilig is teruggekeerd
naar waar het thuishoort.
Nietzsche’s zuster Elisabeth, die zijn werk vervalste,
gaf destijds opdracht de hele oplage van dit
door Peter Gast bezorgde boek te vernietigen.
Mijn foto-archief en de bijbehorende relikwieën
schonk ik op 4 juli 2017 officieel aan het
Nietzsche Dokumentationszentrum Naumburg(Saale)(D).
In de komende jaren zal ik een selectie
van mijn Nietzsche-bibliotheek geleidelijk
daarheen overbrengen.
