HAPPY NEW YEAR!
GELUKKIG NIEUW JAAR!
Helaas begint het nieuwe jaar met een kortzichtige BTW-verhoging*
op beeldende kunst door het huidige kabinet,
dit nog náást grootscheepse bezuinigingen
op kunst en cultuur .
Een meelijwekkend gebrek aan inzicht in het kunstenaarsbestaan
en in de verrijkende invloed van de kunsten op een mensenleven
ligt hieraan ten grondslag.

Some of my artworks will always be there in my imaginary archive, they “pop up” in my head every now and then, because they are dear to me. These are the works that I want to show on my blog in the “collections”-series, as an homage to their owners.
The people who “live with” my drawings, paintings and sculptures are cherished by me, I am and will always be gratefull to them. It is a precious experience to me when I’m allowed to take my work to its new surroundings myself, only then -it seems to me- I can appreciate it as an independent piece of art.

De werken in mijn denkbeeldig archief en de collecties waarin zij zijn opgenomen zijn een steun en toeverlaat. Zij die houden van-, zich ontfermen over- en willen leven met mijn werk worden door mij dan ook op handen gedragen. Het blijft een bijzondere gebeurtenis om het werk in de nieuwe omgeving te mogen bekijken en het meestal pas dán als een op zichzelf staand iets te kunnen zien.

Mijn tweede “Travelogue” (potlood/inkt op papier 152 x 1000cm.) is af!
Het vertelt van de vrieskoude lucht, het heldere licht,
de ordening, het weidse en het detail.

Fragmenten nagelaten, zijpaden gevolgd, wegen verwoord.
Onbespied een knapzak vol leeftocht gespaard.
Alsof de richting van de gedachtengang voor de hand heeft gelegen.

Sheet lightning/Weerlicht

Sheet lightning: type of lightning associated with a cloud discharge

Sheet lightning occurs when the actual bolt or flash of lightning is hidden behind the clouds. When sheet lightning occurs the entire sky flashes a glowing white color.

WEERLICHT: diffuse bliksem binnen een wolk, verlicht het landschap egaal WIT.
daarentegen:
TEGENLICHT: tegen de zon in, het landschap lijkt kleur te verliezen en wordt bijna ZWART.
